You will experience an amazing and varied nature when you walk through the nature preserve of Verkeån. Here you´ll find deep Beech forest ravines and steep hills with open landscapes. You´ll get a detailed map on your hike and can then walk to the following destinations:
Hallamölla waterfall with mill:
In this enchanting nature you will find the highest waterfall in Scania; 23 metres high with five streams. The water mill was built in the 14th Century. The lake trout from Haväng comes to the beginning of the waterfall, but not further. Let the local guide tell you more!
The old alum cultivation in Andrarum:
A dramatic environment with one of the oldest industrial ruins in Sweden. Christina Piper on Christinehofs Castle (1673-1752) developed one of the country’s largest industries for alum production. Why not visit Christinehofs Castle with Ecopark!
The valley of Verke creek:
Walk through the Beech forest ravine along the stream Verkeån towards Vantalängan. The small brooks merges into the larger stream Verkeån.
Take a break, maybe you will se the Gold crest fly past!
A sea of blue Anemone sylvestris covers the hills during springtime, and the raptures floats in the sky! Make a visit to the enclosed farm Glimmebodagården; the old half-timbered farm dates back to the late 1700s. Here are local guides.
